Pictures I Found On The Web That I Like

Sometimes I see things on the web that speak to me, move me or notions and mantras that I subscribe to. Sometimes they just amuse me or make make me laugh. (Click on image to enlarge)

Things Heard Around My House

This afternoon I spent some cuddle time with my daughter and rested my head on her lap while we chatted about her day at school.
My dog Jedi then jumped on top of me and collectively I thought we looked like a sandwich.

I reflected this to my daughter and said, "Oh look, we are like a sandwich and you and Jedi are the crust and I am the filling."

My daughters stomach then tensed up and it felt like she was pushing out her stomach.

I asked, "What are you doing?"

She responded, "Cutting the cheese.......Cheese is good on a sandwich."

A Gem From My Dad

My Dad sent me this stomach queasy video of the worlds worst job.
He only has to climb 1768 feet up a tower to change a light bulb on a transmission tower. That's taller then the Empire State Building. You could not pay me enough to do this job. My dad wrote as a side note to his email that he sent, "Wouldn't it be funny if he forgot to bring a tool he needed or the replacement bulb was defective or he had to go to the bathroom when he was already at the job-site?"

However, I bet they are prepared for all scenarios.

A New Way Of Thinking About Cereal

I am not kidding.....I have given thought to this idea and thought of this concept as a great marketing concept before I learned that it actually exists here. I hope it comes to Canada.

Google Beat

Google Beat is a short weekly video presenting the past week’s hottest trends online created by curious people using Google search. Think of it as our society’s cultural analysis, brought to us in weekly bite size as a time. To see an example, see Google Beat’s presenter, Anne Espiritu, covering the week ending October 1.
It’s fascinating to learn what people are searching for.

Strange Statues & Scupltures

Whenever I was travel I always notice peoples fascination with taking photos of statues. I just don't get it. Is it in our genes? Is there some kind of magnet that draws us to them inside those sculptures? I have to admit there actually might be some sculptures that I would like to have a photo standing near … Check out some of these strange sculptures from around the world.

Vomiting Fountain Sculpture, London, UK.

Traffic Light Tree, London, UK.

The Magic Tap, Spain.......The tap appears to float in the sky with an endless supply of water. Actually, there is a pipe hidden in the stream of water that holds the whole structure.

The Shark, Headington,Oxford..... The Headington Shark is a sculpture situated at 2 New High Street, Headington, Oxford, England, depicting a shark embedded head-first in the roof of the house. The shark first appeared on August 9, 1986. Bill Heine, a local radio presenter who still owns the house, has said "The shark was to express someone feeling totally impotent and ripping a hole in their roof out of a sense of impotence and anger and desperation… It is saying something about CND, nuclear power, Chernobyl and Nagasaki."

The sculpture, which weighs 203 kilograms, is 25 feet long, and is made of painted fibreglass, is named Untitled 1986 (written on the gate of the house). The sculpture was erected on the 41st anniversary of the dropping of the atomic bomb on Nagasaki.

Created by sculptor John Buckley, the shark was controversial when it first appeared. Oxford City Council tried to have it taken down on grounds of safety, and then on the grounds that it had not given planning permission for the shark, but there was much local support for the shark. Eventually the matter was taken to the central government, where the Department for the Environment assessed the case on planning grounds, and ruled that the shark would be allowed to remain as it did not result in harm to the visual amenity.

Recently, scaffolding has been erected around the shark, It is assumed that the structure is being reinforced for safety.

There are alot of strange statues in the world but this guy is the strangest scupture maker.
