Song Of The Day: Mr. Rock and Roll By Amy McDonald

I have been really enjoying the music of this Scottish singer/songwriter.

Christmas Idea For My Mother In Law

My mother in law is a big Elvis fan and her home is decorated with Elvis memorobilia galore. This Barbie set might be a great addition to her knicks and knacks. They are available here and at select Walmarts.

Song Of The Day: Thats How Strong My Love Is By Otis Redding

The Rolling Stones, who were big fans of Redding and recorded many Blues and Soul covers in their early years, recorded this in 1965 and released it on their Out Of Our Heads album. Redding reciprocated by recording a version of The Stones "I Can't Get No Satisfaction."

The Hotel Cafe Tour

This cool musical tour will make its way across North America this fall and it's chock full of female talent that I dig. I totally wish they would come bring their estrogen energy to Canada.

My Thoughts On Big Brother

Let me start by saying how much I am loving this season. The man I thought I would hate the most at the onset of the season is my vote to win. Go Dan Go!!!
I am so glad they gave us a recap of his speech when he dissed the deal he made with Ollie.

In the end, I hope the jury will base decisions on gameplay. But with this group, I doubt it.

He is a mastermind at setting the houseguests up so they will escalate and then begin to rip each other apart. I love the scene in the backyard where he suddenly gets up and excuses himself from the chaos.

Prior to the veto competition, what did Ollie go in his room to get?

I’m so happy that Michelle is out of the house. She was so annoying with her baby-talk and her constant complaining.

I can't believe that Ollie was not made accountable by Big Brother for his destructive and hostile behaviour.

Libra's life has to suck right now. Stuck in Jury house with April, Ollie, and Michelle!

New Face Of Wonderbra

Dita Von Teese, the burlesque dancer turned B-list celeb will not only be the new face of the undergarments, but she'll also be collaborating with Victoria's Secret to create a limited edition collection called, not surprisingly, "Wonderbra by Dita Von Teese."

Who knew Wonderbra had a face?

Coco Chanel biopic

A Coco Chanel biopic is in the works starring Audrey Tatou. I think this may make my friend Sheila a little excited.

Song Of The Day: Don't Matter To the Sun By Rosie Thomas

Rosie Thomas is an American singer-songwriter, originally from Michigan and she also performs as a stand-up comedian under the name Sheila Saputo.

Movie Review: Sisterhood Of The Travelling Pants

I took the girls to see The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 movie the other week. The movies are based on the books written by Ann Brashares. This sequel picks up three years after the first movies and the girls are still sharing the traveling pants. The girls encounter problems that many young girls face.......... pregnancy, breakups, career opportunities, coming to terms with loss, and the importance of nurturing friendships. The movie has a fabulous message about coming of age and the power of friendship.

Sweet Treats

After reading this article about food that tastes great when you're a kid, but horrible as an adult......I thought I would add my thoughts.

I agree with...... Baseball Card Gum, Cotton Candy, FunDip, Pop Tarts.

I would add.......Twinkies, Pixy stix, Fruitty Pebbles, Count Chocula, or Frankenberry Cereals, Quick! strawberry-flavored milk, Pez, Cadbury Cream Eggs, Jolly Ranchers, Jawbreakers, sponge toffee, bubble gum ice cream, Wagon Wheels, Tootsie Rolls, Chocolate Coins, Sweet Tarts.
What about you?

Michelle Rodriguez Returns To Lost

Michelle Rodriguez will appear on Lost again next season. I hope this rumour is true as I was sad to see her character depart from the island and the series.

RIP: Dave Freeman

Dave Freeman, co-author of "100 Things to Do Before You Die," a travel guide and ode to odd adventures that inspired readers and imitators, died after hitting his head in a fall at his home. He was 47.

Song Of The Day: Silver Lining By Rilo Kiley

Dexter fans can go to this site to see if they have a "killer instinct." It offers an inkblot test and a sliding scale that asks users how each picture makes them feel.

My score revealed.........0%. "Congratulations. You responses indicate that you are completely normal. Almost too normal. What are you hiding, you psycho? "

The last part made me laugh.

Song Of The Day: Put Your Records On By Corinne Bailey Rae

This happy song's opening line, "Three little birds sat on my window/ And they tell me I don't need to worry," is a reference to Bob Marley's hit song, Three Little Birds.

Trailer Of Bush Biopic

Click here to preview Oliver Stones newest film about how George W. Bush made it from rowdy college kid to the White House. I personally think the timing is off to generate alot of enthusiasm about this movie. Oliver Stone looks as if he is setting the story of Bushs life so that we feel sorry for him.......UGH!!! Is it coincidence that they used the song "What A Wonderful World" in the trailer? The same song used in Fahrenheit 9/11?

More Baby News In Celebity Land

'Sporty Spice' has revealed that she is expecting her first baby.

My Thoughts On Big Brother

I like how Dan didn’t specifically state it was April who tried to bribe him. I forgot Jerry has some of the money, too. This will keep the houseguests guessing.....hmmmmm.

The video montage of Ollie & April: A Love Story for The Ages.........UGH!!!!!!

They talk about moving in together. Yeah, that’ll work out well. When we find out that April is Ollies first girlfriend I really begin to worry for Ollis painful and sad future.

We listen to Ollie’s parents, who tell us about Ollie’s moral Christian upbringing. They say they’re quite proud of him. Do they know about his sexcapades?

When we meet Aprils twin, we find out that the receding hairline is genetic.

I enjoyed the clip of Ollie and his fear of crows.

Aprils now stuck alone with Libra

Drive In Time

We are headed out to the drive-in.......

Bride Gets Tasered

Song Of The Day: Midnight Train to Georgia By Gladys Knight & The Pips

I love this sentimental classic. I just looked it up on Wikipedia and this is what I learned.......
the song was featured during a scene in the 1978 film "The Deer Hunter" by director Michael Cimino, in which the character Michael (Robert DeNiro) searches for his friend Nick (Christopher Walken) in a strip club in Saigon as the girls gyrate to "Midnight Train To Georgia". It was also featured prominently in a 1986 episode of Growing Pains, a 2001 episode of Will & Grace, a 2008 episode of 30 Rock (featuring Knight in a guest role) and in the fifth episode of ¨Cold Case¨ season 1 called ¨The Runner¨. The song also formed the basis of a Sunday Doonesbury comic strip, in which the Pips have a conversation while performing the song on stage, interrupted by their background vocals. X Factor Series 2 contestant Maria Lawson used a sample of the song for her track entitled 'His World' on her 2006 debut album Maria Lawson

Year Book Yourself

Upload your photo, and this site shows what you'd look like in several decades, all the way up to 2000. If you choose the right pic, the results can be more hilarious than your actual yearbook photo.
The ones in the 80's with the BIG hair were actually pretty close to what I actually looked like back in the days of Platinum Blonde and Duran Duran.
I chose to share the pictures from the year I was born......1966. The second is 1952 and then 1960.

Decency In Hollywood

I love reading about acts of kindness like this. Hopefully it inspires all of us to do the same.

Congratulations and Best Wishes For A Long & Happy Marriage

Congrats go out to Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi who were married in a small intimate ceremony at sunset in their Los Angeles home last night. Just nineteen guests watched as the devoted couple exchanged handwritten vows. I love Portia wedding dress and I must say Ellen wears 50 years of age quite well.

Song Of The Day: Them Kids By Sam Roberts

I love the symbolic references made in this tune of the generational divide between Gen-X and our elders, video games are the precise reason why many of "them kids" are too distracted in modern society to enjoy the simple pleasures of past generations

Won't You Help A Fellow Out?

This guy is trying to earn money to (weirdly) attend John Stamos' birthday party. I wonder if he budgeted for a gift?

Weezer Is Coming To Town

My eldest daughter has been wanting to go to a concert for the past few years. I have been able to stall and delay her until now. She has been building momentum with her request and I believe she is of an age where she will truly appreciate her first concert experience. This Friday I am going to try and get her and I tickets to see Weezer at the ACC on Tuesday, September, 30th. Anyone want to join us? Let me know by Friday.

My To Do List

Esquire's list of "75 Things Every Man Should Do Before He Dies."
It's a pretty testosterone fuelled list but I have completed a few.

I used to be good at number 11 ( a backflip to boot) and often think of giving it another try.

I love the idea of number 12 and am actually going to make it a goal to do this in the near future.

I am going to to do number 18 before the year is through.

I'm sure I have cultivated reputations ....... some of them unwarranted ;)

I have given up my seat

I have worked for tips

I have overeaten for a week...make that the last 10 years

I totally subscribe to number 73. Jedi was my constant companion during my recent battle with Cancer.

I would like to also set foot on all seven continents.

Laugh Of The Day

My neighbor sent me this. It kind of reminded me of Garth & I. He even makes a similar annoying sound when he is goofing around trying to bug me. Ladies don't throw out your catalogs.

Song Of The Day: Black Hole Sun By Soundgarden

I love the Beatle like melody of this song.

Cool Math Trick To Impress Your Kids

Your kids are sure to like this and you probably will too......

Think of your age in years
Multiply your age by 2

Add 10
Multiply by 5
Add # of siblings you have
Subtract 50
The digits in your answer will be your age followed by the number of siblings you have.

Think of the first three digits of your phone number (NOT the area code)
Multiply by 80
Add 1
Multiply by 250
Add the last 4 digits of your phone number
Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again.
Subtract 250
Divide number by 2
Your answer should be your phone number.

My Thoughts On Big Brother

This is the loudest season with the most screaming.
Here is the dynamics this week:

Libra and Keesha have a hate on for April
April thinks Libra is a bitch
Jerry refers to Dan as Judas
Michelle wants Libra evicted.
Keesha is happy she’s not the main target.
Keesha begins to hate Libra and goes into a hostile psychotic rage.

During Veto Dan becomes nervous as it is quite evident that Jerry is gunning for him.
Libra thinks it’s good strategy to shove large pieces into her box (that is what she said) because big pieces weigh more than little ones. Ollie notices this and thinks it’s genius.
Why do I watch this show?

Memphis wins the mystery prize and he chooses the wrong envelope and winds up having to wear an onion necklace for the next 24 hours. April wins the other envelope.....5 designer outfits. April feels she is most deserving of this prize and expresses that she loves how jealous the other girls must be.
Jerry wins the Veto and goes to the DR and tries to speak in parable about his win but actually ends up calling himself an old cow.
Jerry talks to Michelle about his PoV and announces he won it for Jessie. Whatever!!!!!

Then the houseguests get to have their feast! They are all very excited and pour lots of wine. Keesha suggests everyone say something nice to each other so that they can better enjoy the event and in doing so Keesha tries to be nice to April and then jokes about borrowing one of her prize outfits. Libra jokes that this is the only reason Keesha is being nice. After dinner we get to see just how drunk everyone is as the screaming and crying starts.
During Veto Ceremony Jerry feels like talking, so he goes on yet again about how Dan is Judas. Dan, keeps his cool and doesn’t react to Jerry’s antagonism and
Jerry reveals that it is Dan’s lucky day and puts the Veto away.
Go Dan Go!!!!

Song Of The Day: Plush By Stone Temple Pilots

Brooke loves listening to this song with her Dad

Why Am I Surpised?

Apparently this little bit of pop culture information was released on July 29th but today is the first I am hearing of it. In all reality, I think the best option is for the show to end.

Crazy Rainbow Lady

Let's hope the sound of the police is on the way. Get her! She knows too much!

PETA Is Extreme & Twisted.

RIP:Isaac Hayes

Soul singer and arranger Isaac Hayes, who won Grammy awards and an Oscar for the theme from the 1971 action film "Shaft," has died.
