Tiger Woods & The Story That Just Won't Go Away

Tiger Woods was involved in a single car crash near his home in Florida early Friday morning. The whole story is a little sketchy. Initially, Tiger and his wife invoked their right to remain silent. But Tiger hasn't remained too silent as he has posted a message on his website.

Song Of The Day: Still The One By Orleans

I love this fun little ditty about a man describing his feelings for a woman whom he has a long lasting relationship with and all the reasons why she is "Still the One" for whom he has feelings.

Cool Links

1.) The Best Time to Buy Guide for 45 Products and Services ........Timing is everything, it seems. Knowing when is the best time to buy that new car, house or lawn mower could be the difference between saving hundreds if not thousands of dollars every year.

2.) F*** My Life.......where anyone can vent about something in their life that's gotten them down. Hilarious, irreverent, and highly topical, read other people's FMLs and add your own.

3.) The Book Of Odds......a resource for the odds of everyday life.

Song Of The Day: Unwell By Matchbox 20

As a nurse that interacts daily with the mentally ill and their families this song about denial and limited insight about people who claim to not be crazy even though they're suffering from various occurrences that could lead them to be labeled as such.

$400,000 Kick

Check out this randomly selected rugby fan’s one in a million shot off the crossbar for a £250,000 prize. After making the absurdly unlikely kick in his socks during halftime at the Saracens/South Africa game at Wembley this week, Stuart Tinner is a British national hero.

Song Of The Day: Get To You By James Morrison

James Morrison is a BRIT Award-winning English singer–songwriter and guitarist who has performed with Jason Mraz, Nelly Furtado, and others in concerts and in songs. Before being signed to a major label, Morrison had also been touring with Corinne Bailey Rae.
He attributes his distinctive voice to a severe bout with whooping Cough that nearly killed him when he was a baby.

This Week I.........

Worked out twice at the gym.

Went for a beautiful fall walk with my husband at te Darlington Conservation Area

Watched The Answer Man......
I enjoyed this dramatic and intelligent comedy about three screwed up people and how their chance encounter with each other proves beneficial to them all.
The characters are each troubled by ordinary problems people face on a day-to-day basis.
The story itself is clever, unique and quirky and reminds me of the magic I felt when when I watched Waitress, Big Fish, Sisterhood of Traveling Pants, and Enchanted.
I thought the pace of the movie was enjoyable however the ending could have been more fulfilling.

Song Of The Day: Cars By Gary Numan

Rumour has it that this songs lyrics were inspired by an incident of road rage........ "I was in traffic in London once and had a problem with some people in front. They tried to beat me up and get me out of the car. I locked the doors and eventually drove up on the pavement and got away from them. It's kind of to do with that. It explains how you can feel safe inside a car in the modern world... When you're in it, your whole mentality is different... It's like your own little personal empire with four wheels on it."

Song Of The Day: Mad World

Take time to remember.

A Wish

A Wish

Maybe it is pointless
To wish for lasting peace
For all mankind to lay down arms
For all fighting to cease

I could despair of seeing
Peace throughout the land
No longer hearing talk of war
Blood mixed with desert sand

We do not have the tolerance
For cultures not our own
Seeds fly on an ill wind
From beds where they are sown

Hope lies in a child's heart
Not yet turned to stone
A mind free of prejudice
A child not alone

If all children of the world
Held each others hand
They could do what we could not
Make a Brotherhood of Man.

Song Of The Day: In My Life By Johnny Cash

There is something appealing about hearing an old veteran performer sing songs about life and death and looking back on the past. This Lennon & McCartney tune sung by Johnny takes on a mew meaning.

Its All Attitude

My cousin Sabrina sent me this cute video that brings joy to my eye. It is of an elderly couple that walked into the lobby of the Mayo Clinic for a checkup and spotted a piano. They've been married
for 62 years and he'll be 90 this year. Check out thisimpromptu performance.

Song Of The Day: Cry Me Out By Pixie Lott

Pixie Lott is a British singer-songwriter who explained her song to BBC:
"I always prefer to write about emotional situations - heartbreak, because I like getting into the character. When we were writing 'Cry Me Out,' I said, 'I feel like singing about something sad but, obviously, still being strong'. So the guy has to cry to get over instead of the other way around."

Kindness & Compassion

During one of my recent bookclub meetings I remember the main character was facing a difficult time in her life and Bill the facilitator of the group said something to the effect of, "Don't ever forget, that everyone you meet is fighting a battle."
Since then, I've found myself wondering about people in my life, people I see on the street, people I get really angry and frustrated with.....they are all fighting something or someone. Everyone, at some point, has to trudge uphill.
We are all fighting something.......waking up every day and drawing on reserves of steel and hope that spring from a hidden place within ourselves. Waking up to the suffering of loved ones. Waking up to the pressure of the unknown. Waking up to unrest and illness.
This song puts everything into perspective for me today.
Kindness and compassion, when given sincerely, is wasted on no one.

Trivial Pursuit......Boys Vs Girls

Hasbro has pitted men against women in an experiment to see just who is smart in the ultimate battle of the sexes. 'Trivial Pursuit wanted to conduct an experiment to see if trivia can answer the age-old question,' said Senior Brand Manager Hayden West. Anyone can participate by logging on to www.trivialpursuitexperiment.com ...... just enter your sex, your online moniker and off you go. Each time you get a question correct you gain a point for your team. The website tracks the number of unique users and keeps a running tally of the scores, which are displayed at the top of the page and currently men and women are neck and neck. The experiment will finish on December 9 when the question of who is the smartest sex will be finally answered once and for all.

Trailier: Invictus

Looks like Clint Eastwood (Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon) may be up for Oscar noms again with this film that tells the inspiring true story of how Nelson Mandela (Morgan Freeman) joined forces with the captain of South Africas rugby team, Francois Pienaar (Matt Damon), to help unite their country.

Newly elected President Mandela knows his nation remains racially and economically divided in the wake of apartheid. Believing he can bring his people together through the universal language of sport, Mandela rallies South Africas underdog rugby team as they make an unlikely run to the 1995 World Cup Championship match.

Song Of The Day: Fiesta By The Pogues

"Fiesta" was the last Pogues singles to make the UK Top 30 while MacGowan was with the band. This Week I.......

Worked two 12 hour Night shifts

Worked one 12 hour Day shift from hell.........3 code whites, bloodshed on my hoodie, broken body parts......holy full moon!

Worked one 8 hour Day shift

Took kids out trick or treating

Had my kitchen table arrive

Attended my girls dodgeball game

Did some more Christmas Shopping

Finished Season 2 of The Office

Watched Midnight Movie ......which had the potential to be so much more. The flick does manage to nail a fun low-budget vibe right up to the end when it derails slightly.
Don't set your expectations too high and maybe you will appreciate this cheesy horror flick more than I. The soundtrack was a little too heavy metal for my liking.
The film’s biggest shortcoming is that viewers will wait for answers to questions that the plot generates but the film does not even bother trying to come up answers and you are left feeling the film never goes anywhere or makes much sense.

Did a major overhaul on the playroom

Worked out at the Gym twice

Received my H1N1 Vaccine

Song Of The Day: Had It All By Katherine McPhee

Here is the official music video for Katharine McPhee's new single "Had It All." The video showcases her new look and I like it.

Trailer: Nowhere Boy

Nowhere Boy is a film based on the teenage years of the Beatles John Lennon. The movie, directed by Sam Taylor-Wood, was filmed in Lennon’s boyhood city of Liverpool and stars British actor Aaron Johnson as Lennon.
The film is based on a book by Lennon’s half-sister Julia Baird called Imagine This: Growing Up With My Brother John Lennon and details the singer’s early life, when he was being raised by his Aunt Mimi, played here by Kristen Scott Thomas, and his own mother Julia.
