Manners

Recently I have been noticing firsthand the decline of manners and have been pondering what is contributing to this state of humanity.
I believe it is daily stress,
a lack of education about good manners and technology that are all playing their part in the decline of manners.

1. Are good manners important? Yes.

2. Do “manners make the man”? They make the man, the woman and the child. How you behave and how you treat others speaks volumes about oneself.

3. What constitutes good manners in your house? The basics.......please and thank you, respect for others and kindness to animals.

Song Of The Day: You Don't Know How It Feels By Tom Petty

I have always enjoyed this well-written piece about dealing with problems and losses in life. The original lyrics say, "So let me get to the point. Let's ROLL another joint." MTV, wanting to avoid controversy, asked Petty to change the lyrics for the video. He changed them, oddly enough to "Let's HIT another joint."

What A Wonderful World Indeed!

As I watched this I was waiting for the Japanese version of Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul.

Song Of The Day: I'd Love To Change The World By Ten Years After

This anti war song was used in the trailer for Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11. Matt Stone and Trey Parker then used it in the trailer for Team America World Police to lampoon the "Fahrenheit" preview.

Just In Case You Wanted To Know

I found this YouTube Clip of how condoms were made quite interesting. I wonder how much those machines are worth.

Song Of The Day: Mindbender By Stillwater

Cameron Crowe, writer for Rolling Stone magazine, first heard Stillwater playing in a night club in Georgia. He ended up using the name "Stillwater" for his fictional band in his movie "Almost Famous."

Song Of The Day: Apologize By One Republic

This is my daughter Brookes favorite song of the moment. This song had a 25-week run in the US Top Ten. It was the longest any song has been in the Top 10 since 1999, when Santana featuring Rob Thomas' "Smooth" spent 30 weeks in that section of the survey.

I Agree Morgan

Black History Month has roots in historian Carter G. Woodson’s Negro History Week, which he designated in 1926 as the second week in February to mark the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln. Woodson said he hoped the week could one day be eliminated.......when black history would become fundamental to American history.
Morgan also said there is no “white history month” and says the only way to get rid of racism is to “stop talking about it. He also believes the labels “black” and “white” are an obstacle to beating racism.

Morgan Freeman says the concept of a month dedicated to black history is “ridiculous.” Here’s what he had to say about it in a “60 Minutes” interview
airing tonight.

Song Of The Day: Train, train By Blackfoot

Blackfoot was a Southern rock band from Jacksonville, Florida. They were formed in 1972 that disbanded in 1984. They were contemporaries of Lynyrd Skynyrd, and tried for years to make it as a Southern rock band, although they were more popular as a hard rock outfit. I love the harmonica intro at the beginning that represents a train chugging along the tracks.

Lady GaGa On Jay Leno

Lady Gaga performed her #1 hit single "Just Dance" on the Tonight Show on Thursday night and I have to say.....the girl can sing and dance but who dresses her?

Insane!

Do they really believe the safety helmets are going to prevent injury during this wild ride?

Song Of The Day: Waiting By City And Colour

My uber cool nephew sent me a message suggesting I listen to this tune by City and Colour. City and Colour is an acoustic solo side-project fronted by Canadian singer-songwriter Dallas Green accompanied by a varying number of musicians. Taylor, you have great taste and I too, am a fan of this St. Catherines group.

"The girl" is my favorite tune off the same album "Bring me your love."

Bummer

Here is something else to add the list of things I now fear..
