Rosie O'Donnell - Howard Stern Interview

Check out this very engaging Howard Stern/Rosie O'Donnell interview that went down yesterday.
In the after-show yesterday Gary (Baba-booey) Del Abate said that the interveiw was only supposed to be fifteen minutes, and it wound up being over forty minutes long.

Trailer: Wanted

Angelina Jolie may be pregnant and maternal with her family at the moment, but never forget she can kick ass. This movie has a bit of a Matrix feel to me.

I Just Might Watch This

One of SNL's most distinguished alumni, Mike Myers returns to host an evening of his best work on the primetime special "Saturday Night Live: The Best of Mike Myers" on Sunday June 15 (9:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. ET).

Snacktime With The Barenaked Ladies

Snacktime is Barenaked Ladies first collection of original children's songs. The album was produced and mixed by Michael Phillip Wojewoda, who also worked with the band on their debut Gordon.

Song Of The Day: My Only Offer By Mates Of State

Mates of State are an American indie rock duo, active since 1997. The group is composed of the husband-and-wife team Kori Gardner and Jason Hammel. I like the fun vibe of this song.

Apology

Click the photo to enlarge and then ask yourself........do you really think the guy was the one asking for an apology?

The Mole Is Back.......Hooray!!! (Spoilers)

I haven't watched any full episodes since the last Anderson Cooper episode in season two. I like the mix of characters.....bold, quiet, athletic, out of shape, beautiful, whining, etc.
The host Jon Kelley has not hooked me yet. I find he lacks personality and I miss Anderson.

I was a little surprised by the first challenge. It looked dangerous. I think this is comparable to something David Blaine might do.......go over a waterfall at night. I am surprised that no one got injured. I was also mystified by Marcies picks ( shorter and older) for who would go for the real money as opposed to the fake. I did like seeing Liz, the oldest at 60, grabb a bag.

My least favorite contestant is Dr. Whiner.

I found it amusing that the first person sent home was Marcie, the person everyone thought was the Mole at the start. Obviously, these players aren't good on first impressions.

Marks sob story about his wife having to work two jobs was a little over the top.......hmmmm. So far he is my pick for the mole. I am sure it will change tho'

Fire At Universal Studios

A giant fire broke out at Universal Studios in Los Angeles early this morning, destroying the courthouse square from the Back to the Future movies and damaging the famous clock tower.

No word on how the fire started but officials say that it has now been contained. One firefighter and two other have been hurt.

I remember visiting Universal Studios in Calinfornia when I was 12. I actually have a picture of my brother Mark and I standing in Ben Hurs Chariot.

Book Review : A Thousand Spendid Suns

Another page turner that I could not put down.
The author paints a picture of a part of the world where women are agonizingly dependent on their fathers, husbands and sons. The bearing of male children being their only path to social status.
The two main characters who are woman are both very real, interesting characters. I felt for them and their painful struggles over the course of the book.
I enjoyed reading about the historical background of this story which covers 3 decades.
We we get a picture of life in the midst of a civil war and under an oppressive regime.
I find it interesting that this book was written by a man as he fully captures the heart and soul of women in his writing.

Weekend Recap

My weekend has had its ups and downs.

Friday afternoon, I had a lunch date with a friend and enjoyed some good food and great conversation. I spent the evening hanging with my munchkins working on school projects which included helping Alley create a commercial that would encourage viewers to travel to Swaziland.

Saturday, I spent the morning trying to fix our household computer. The hard drive is completely shot........ugh!!! The afternoon was spent outside sitting on the porch chatting with neighbors while the girlies played in the neighborhood.

I was also able to finish my next book for this months upcoming bookclub and do some lawn work. During the evening, my friend Mike dropped by to take a look at my computer and he confirmed the bad news. My computer is cooked. She has given me alot of milage over the last 9 years. While I was greiving my loss, Mike explained that 9 years is ancient in the computer world.

I learn alot from this guy. He enlightened me to alot of new slang and jargon from the urban dictionary as well during his visit. No wonder you have the biggest brain of all my facebook friends.......ha,ha,ha.

Sunday, I hit the gym and then to Blockbuster to pick up some flicks now that good TV is on hiatus. I watched
"Sidewalks of New York." Filmed in a documentary style with a good cast revealing the complex lives of six New Yorker's whose lives intersect at some point during the movie. It was a flick that kept my attention and was an interesting afternoons entertainment.

Trailer: Burn After Reading

The quality of the trailer is not the best but it is good enough to see that this upcoming flick by the Coen brothers looks like alot of fun. Great cast in this caper comedy.

Universl Studios Is On Fire

The fire started roughly an hour ago, and is continuing to spread, according to ABC. There are no reports of injuries at the moment.

Deal Of The Day: Free Buttons From NBC

NBC is giving away buttons for fans to show their Emmy support. I ordered mine and they accepted my Canadian address. We will wait and see.

Song Of The Day: Pour Some Sugar On Me By Emm Gryner

Toronto Mike turned me on to this artist the other day and I can't stop listening to her. "Girl Versions" is an album of cover songs. I love her female interpretation of male lyrics and when you listen to her musical interpretations of the songs, you'll feel like you're listening to the song for the very first time. It is wonderful and I've never been so excited about an artist before.

My Thoughts On Lost (Spoilers)

Great Finale!!!!!
Okay here is some food for thought
John Locke becomes Jeremy Bentham..........hmmmmmm.
Walt sure has grown up. I wasn't even sure it was the same kid but Garth assures me it is.
How the heck did Locke get off the island and what caused his fate at the end of the finale?
When Ben says that they "all" have to go back...does he mean Desmond & Frank too as well as Walt?
Sun's screams in the helicopter were heartbreaking.
I cried when Desmond saw Penny.
I was actually yelling at my TV, cheering for Sayid during his fight scene with Keamy.
Man I was an emotional wreck last night.
I've no doubt Desmond and Jack will "see each other in another life brotha."
I wonder what's going to happen with Daniel and the people from the island who were in the little boat enroute to the ship.
The scene with Mr. Eko playing chess and Claire in Aarons room freaked me out.....and what the hell happened to her accent?
Charlotte was born on the island. Tell me who were her parents?
I laughed when sawyer referred to the Frank as Kenny Rogers.
So, who's left on the island? Here is my count of people we actually care about.........Richard & the others, Locke ( Maybe), Miles, Charlotte, Juliet, Sawyer, Rose and Bernard.
What did Sawyer whisper to Kate in the helicopter?
OMG!!!!!No more Lost until 2009.

NSFW....But I Had To Share

My Dad sent me this link and as I sat watching it I found Larry ( AKA the Bam guy) very endearing. He brought a smile to my face. Towards the end........not so much. Okay thats a lie, I still find him winsome.

Trailer: Choke

This film is based on Chuck Palahniuk's novel.

Best Buy Return Policy

My friend Jenn just sent me this E-mail. Not sure if this applies to US or Canada or both....interesting none the less. Checked it out on snopes and it is true.
Not sure that I will ever shop their again, seems pretty ridiculous.

RIP: Harvey Korman

The Emmy-winning star was a veteran of "The Carol Burnett Show" and one of my film favorites, "Blazing Saddles." Korman was 81.

I'm So Excited!!!

Tonight is the Lost finale......2 hours of sweet TV bliss. I am like Pavlovs dog. Just the thought and I am salivating. Good God I hope it lives up to my expectations. Please, please answer at least a few of my questions.

Garbage Lead Singer (Shirley Manson) Cast In 'Terminator' Series

Shirley will join the cast in a regular role as Catherine Weaver, CEO of a high-tech company.

Link Of The Day: Tag Galaxy

Warning..........This is the most addictive link ever.
Tag galaxy takes all photos in Flickr and maps them into planets.
When you type in a random tag such as CN Tower for example you'll see a "galaxy" representing every photo for that tag. It then sorts the tags into planets/subcategories and allows you to enlarge the photos, read captions and head to the person's Flickr page.

I can't stop.

Guns & Gas

A Missouri car dealer said on Thursday sales have soared at his auto and truck business since launching a promotion this week that promises buyers a free handgun or a $250 (126 pound) gas card with every purchase.

This Is Sooooooooo Wrong

I am actually feeling nauseous after watching this video about Extraordinary Breastfeeding, a documentary that aired in England a few years ago and focused on the country's discomfort with breastfeeding. One woman in the documentary, Veronica, believes that children should decide for themselves when they want to stop. Her daughter is about to turn eight, still breastfeeds, and has absolutely no plans of stopping.

SiteMeter Makes Me Ponder

I am pondering why someone from the College Of Nurses has been checking out my site in the last few weeks...........hmmmmmm? I wonder if they keep meaning to wish me happy nurses week but are too shy.

Terence Howard Is A Tad Extreme

I admired Terrence Howard as an actor. I always felt he delivered a fine performance in the handful of flicks I have see him in. After reading this and this, I relized the guy has major issues and I almost wish I didn't read them.

Shows I Will Watch During The Summer

Ahhhhh........the end of another television season. I'm almost exhausted from watching all of the finales. I still have one biggie left. My all time favorite LOST is not until next Thursday.
After that, I can take the summer off and enjoy my evenings at the beach while I unplug my television................NOT!!!!!!
Here are the two shows that I'm most looking forward to watching this summer:

The Mole which premieres June 2 at 10 pm

Swingtown which preimieres June 5 at 10 pm

Song Of The Day: Underneath By Alanis Morisette

This video is freakishly cool.

Link Of The Day: Wants For Sale

This is a interesting website with a unique concept. Two artists think of something they want. Then they paint it and sell it for the amount the item would cost. If it sells, they post a photo of the actual item online.
So far, Wants For Sale has sold paintings of a Wii, Buffalo Wings, one months rent and lots of other stuff.

David Cook On The Tonight Show

My Dad just sent me this clip and he commented that he thought David came across as quite a mature fellow. I have to agree. Could he be any more likable? I also watched him on Larry King on Friday night and was equally impressed by his presentatation that evening.

Julia Roberts Has A Very Large Jaw

Poor Baby!!!!
I wish I could see her babys face because I know that her facial expression will give me nightmares.

Anagrams Are A Great Art

I love playing scrabble and I often engage in on online game of Boggle with my friend Mike. I like using my brain to figure out word patterns and sequences. I have delusions that I am more brilliant and clever than I actually am and am slowly coming to terms with the fact that Mike beats me at every game. I stopped by his house the other day and he actually alluded to the fact that on the rare occasion that I win it is because he lets me. If I think my friend Mike is a challenge, can you imagine playing against this guy.

Sunshine State

I've recently stumbled upon this Toronto band called Sunshine State. They sing songs with surprisingly smart lyrics. I really like "Drug Dealer A Love Story" which details how a girl falls for a man with a mysterious late-night job.

Link Of The Day: End Of The Credits

This website tells you whether a movie playing in theaters has extra scenes during or after the credits. I've missed some because I've left too early.
