Judge Stephanie Sautner sentenced Lohan to 120 days in county lock up. She was remanded into custody, but will likely be out on bail before too long (pending an appeal).

She’s also been ordered to do community service .....480 hours. 360 of it she’ll have to spend at the Downtown Women’s Center. Sounds like Sautner’s trying to scare her straight.
I hope it works!

What Nursing Means To Me

-Nursing is hard.

-It can be overwhelming, frustrating, irritating, enraging, satisfying, thrilling, scary as hell, and sometimes hilarious.

-After a really challenging or complex day I am always reminded that Nurses need nurses.

We need each other so we can talk amongst ourselves about what we truly do for a living. Who else really understands the depth of it. In one sense, it's like being a veteran or having lived through a natural disaster explaining the backstory for everything that happens would take too long for a non nursing audience, and the power of the story would get lost in translation.

If you have ever had somebody die with your hands on them, or helped somebody heal your life changes.
Your worldview is never quite the same, and you recognize the value of being a nurse.

My daughter Brooke turns 14 today. I can hardly believe this much time has passed since she was born. It seems like just yesterday she was running around in diapers. Brooke is my dark horse. She is my quiet and introspective child. She is an old soul. She truly knows what the golden rule is and how to treat others the way she wants to be treated. She knows how to be a daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter, cousin, friend and how to give big and from the heart. She knows how to be interested in others and the conversation doesn’t always have to be about her. Most importantly, family is important to her in every way. She is beautiful both inside and out. My daughter Alexandra loves to play the Ukulele and has become quite masterful. Her older sister was so impressed by her passion that last month Brooke ventured and bought her a Ukulele of her own. It is one sweet sounding electric blue machine. I just recently learned that Eddie Vedder has a new solo album, Ukulele Songs. It is just that....Eddie on ukulele.
