Johnny Cash Auction

Check out this auction of property from the life and career of Johnny Cash. The auction includes items from Cash's military career, through his life and partnership with June Carter Cash, into his time as a Highwayman with his friends through the end of his career.
Highlights in the sale are lyrics personally penned by Cash. The lyrics include Cash's takes on traditional songs, an alternate version of "Don't Take Your Guns To Town," (Est. $2,000/4,000) and many songs that have never been recorded.

Pumpkin Carving At Its Finest

Katy Perry and Russell Brand are officially husband and wife.....Katy’s best friend Rihanna was a no show, with the excuse that she had to be in the studio. The happy couple tied the knot in Rajasthan, India (I wonder why they chose India to get married) with 80 friends and family members in attendance. As a wedding gift for his new bride, Russell spent thousands on a female Bengal tiger, which lives at the reserve where they got married. He also purchased a ruby ring for Katy, which he believes possesses protective powers. As a gift for her husband, Katy splashed out on a baby elephant for Russell, in return. There are no photos of their wedding ceremony as of yet. I wonder what they’re waiting for?

Leonard Nimoy Recovering After Abdominal Surgery ........... Live long and prosper, Mr. Spock and now go in search of good health.

The Extra Paul

Paul Cole wasa retired American salesman at the age of 92 when he finally revealed himself as the "extra Paul" on one of the group's most famous album covers, Abbey Road.

Taken in August 1969, Mr Cole is the one next to the black police van, just behind John Lennon's head.

He said: "I was on holiday in London with my wife and I told her, 'I've seen enough museums. You go on, take your time and I'll see you later'.

"I saw this police van and I went over. I must have been talking to the policeman for about half an hour.

"I then saw these four guys walking across the street like a line of ducks.

"A bunch of kooks I called them because they all had long hair and one of them was even barefoot."

Mr Cole had no idea who they were or that they were being photographed.

It wasn't until six months later, back at home in America, he found out.

"My wife used to play the organ and a couple wanted her to play a song off the album at their wedding.

"I saw the album and I recognised myself right away. I had a new sports jacket on and I'd just bought new shell-rimmed glasses. I said to my children, 'get a magnifying glass out and you'll see me'." Mr Cole, who lives in Florida, used to tell his friends that "my picture is in millions of houses".

Despite being forever linked to the album, he has never actually listened to Abbey Road.

"It's still brand new in its sleeve," he said. "I couldn't name a single song."

At the time, though, his children were delighted. "They blew up pictures for their bedroom walls which they got me to sign as a joke," he said.

The famous shot was taken by photographer Iain McMillan.

The Fab Four were pictured on a pedestrian crossing outside their studio in Abbey Road, North London. It was the last album they recorded.

Paul Cole passed away in 2008.

Sometimes I'll be watching a commercial (yeah, I still do that on occasion) and hear a voice I think I recognize, and being the type of person I am, I want to know for sure. Am I imagining Patrick Dempsey's voice in that commercial? While voices like Morgan Freeman are unmistakable, I was wondering if there was a website that lists celebrity voiceover credits and there is this useful website.

Acheivements

I don't always find pleasure in running.

Some days, it's hot. Some days it's cold. Some days, my energy is depleted. Some days, my muscles are not on board with the training plan.

But, I take immense pleasure lacing up my shoes, knowing that I am healthy enough to run, knowing that I can condition my body, even at 44 years of age, to do something I used to think would be impossible. No matter how I feel, I can will myself to push a little bit harder, to go a little bit longer, to get a little bit closer to whatever goal I am trying to achieve.

And when I see my shoes, I see myself .... what I have become. Because no matter if it is a physical challenge or emotional or spiritual one, I know now from what material I am made. I know now that I can endure, that I can succeed, that I have the will and the drive to push through.

Trailer: I Love You Phillip Morris

I Love You Phillip Morris stars Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor. It is based on Steve McVicker’s I Love You Phillip Morris: A True Story of Life, Love, and Prison Breaks, the true story of con artist and prison escapee Steven Jay Russell.
It is set to (finally) open in U.S. theaters on December 3rd.

It has already generated over $18 million in revenue internationally, the picture has yet to see a release in the United States due to various legal issues and a recut ordered by the distributors to excise some of the more graphic scenes.

The controversial trailer has just been released, and as expected it’s both raunchy and funny!

Kanye West decided to get his teeth replaced with diamonds. Really.....does he not have better ways to spend his money?
Kanye appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ show to talk about his mouth made of money. He said, “‘I just thought that diamonds were cooler.” He went on to reveal that it’s not a grill, actually, and that he had his dentist remove his entire bottom row of teeth and replaced them all.
Ellen asked, “It’s not a grill?”, to which he responded, “It’s really my real teeth. I replaced my bottom row of teeth.”

It is a dreary Autumn Day. The sky is grey, the air is cool and it's breezy. It won't be long before all the leaves are off the trees if this keeps up.
I am excited about ... Settling in this weekend and catching up on some shows on my PVR and reading my latest book that I can't put down.

I am thinking... that I should get ready for my evening shift tonight.
I am thankful for... Warm clothing on cool days like today.
From the kitchen... not much. Kids & Garth will eat pizza and I will eat on the fly.
I am wearing... my PJs still ... and I love it.
I created this week ...spaghetti squash and marinara sauce.....yummmm
I am reading... many, many, many things.
I am wondering ... if I should get dressed now.
Around the house... I'm picking out paint colours for the living room and kitchen.

1.) Dead mouse found in a Curry Sauce......Ms Barrett, of St Austell, Cornwall, said: 'I stirred the sauce around and thought it looked a little bit more lumpy than usual and wondered if we had too many vegetables in the pan. Then as the sauce spread out, I saw whiskers, legs, and a tail. I shouted out to Nigel to come to see if it was what I thought it was. Then I fished it out.

2.) Oven glove found in loaf of bread.....A bread maker has been fined after a woman discovered part of an oven glove baked into her slice of bread - and she didn't even notice it until she began eating it.

Top Gun Number 2

According to New York Magazine’s Vulture, “Top Gun 2″ is in the works and Tom Cruise has agreed to appear in the sequel. Most likely as a cameo.

Vulture reports that Paramount Pictures has pursued “Top Gun” producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Tony Scott to film a follow up to their hit 1986 flick about Naval aviators.

As of yet, no actors are currently attached to the sequel.

Sometimes I wish that certain films should just be left alone.

Wedding Whoops!

Travolator

An early trial version of a moving pavement.... the Travolator, is demonstrated in New York in 1924.
It was supposed to help relieve congested streets.
The wooden pavement has 4 different lanes.......the first is stationary; the 2nd moves slowly; the 3rd at medium speed; and the 4th is the fast lane which has a row of benches.
A line of men in business suits and hats step up onto the stationary platform; then walk across the various-speeded lanes (like changing lanes on the motorway) and take seats on the benches.
Shot from above shows the men nonchalantly sitting on the benches; whizzing round a curve. Looks like a bizarre adult merry-go-round.

Set Your PVRs

"Half Man Half Tree", is part of the "My Shocking Story" series, and will be shown on the Discovery Channel at 9pm on Nov 15.
It will tell us the journey of an Indonesian fisherman named Dede, better known as the Tree Man, who has been given a new lease on life thanks to an American doctor who took it upon himself to diagnose the man’s ailment.

Dr. Anthony Gaspari of the University of Maryland traveled to Tree Man’s hometown in 2007, south of Jakarta, to help Dede with his terribly challenging illness. After running tests on Tree Man’s mysterious growths, Gaspari found that the root-like extensions were a result of both the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and his immune system. Tree Man suffers a rare genetic disease which causes his immune system to be almost non-existent. The result is tree-like growths (warts) stemming from his feet hands and face.

Tree Man says his hands and feet are heavy and he has a difficult time maneuvering. He cannot work and supports his two children by working in a freak show of sorts, where people pay to gawk at him. His wife deserted him some time ago and he is the subject of much ridicule in his small town.

Dr. Gaspari said in 2007 that he felt confident that treating Tree Man with synthetic Vitamin A will halt the growths. ”He won’t have a perfectly normal body but the warts should reduce in size to the point where he could use his hands,” Dr Gaspari said.

“Over the course of three to six months the warts should be come smaller and fewer in number. He will be living a more normal life.”

The warts would then be able to be frozen off and surgically removed.

This is an amazing story....and to think we have a difficult time when people judge us for our weight, looks or social status. This poor man has got to have a strong soul to go through what he has.

Lead guitarist, who sings the vocals for this tune explains the real-life story behind the single: "It was written for this girl that I was dating while we were making our last album out in Malibu. We have a lot of history; I've known her since I was 11 or 12. I wasn't really emotionally available to her at the time. I hadn’t completely gotten over my divorce, so when the band left on tour, I decided it wasn't right to try to keep the relationship going so we called it quits. It was only over the last year or so that I've realized what I walked away from. The song was an attempt to rekindle things and win her back. She's currently dating someone else, and I'm happy for her. But in case it doesn't work out... who knows?"

Loca By Shakira feat Dizzee Rascal......The music video was filmed during a visit in Barcelona, Spain in August 2010. The Spanish city reportedly is considering fining the Colombian singer for stopping traffic as she filmed a music video, reports the New York Post. Shakira, who didn’t get any permits, danced in a public fountain (Pla de Palau fountain) and rode on the back of a motorcycle with her hair flowing in the wind, when she should have worn a helmet. About the video shakira said "Barcelona is one of my favourite cities. The video is just about having fun and being real in this amazing place with real people."



The Longest Highway Home By The Reason.........The Reason are from Hamilton, Ontario. This fast paced song tells about life on the road, telling of both the ups and downs. “This one goes out to the boys / All you boys in the back hanging out / You’ve got a love back home. / But when you’re with your friends / There’s no goddamn place in the world / that you’d rather be. / This is the longest highway I’ve been on, / on the loneliest day you’ve ever known.”

This is one of the most amusing virals I’ve come across the net in a while. It’s a You Tube video called “Tipp Experience” It’s about a guy and a bear. Thats all the leaks i’m giving. (Other then try soccer, dancing, tickles, sleeping, shoot are cute ones to try.)

This is a tad long but it is also one of the most intriguing you tube videos that I’ve seen in quite a while. Helen takes her normal appearance, adds some pretty cool makeup tricks and poof, she’s Jared made over. Courtney Cox & David Arquette Have Split

Courteney Cox and David Arquette have separated after 11 years of marriage. They have one daughter, 6-year-old Coco.

"We have agreed to a trial separation that dates back for some time," the duo said in a statement. "The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage. We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply. As we go though this process we are determined to use kindness and understanding to get through this together."

Interesting Casting Decision

Michelle Williams has been cast as Marilyn Monroe. She will be playing Monroe in "My Week With Marilyn", a film about a week on the London set of The Prince and the Showgirl back in the 1950s, told from the perspective of an assistant on the production. It’s apparently based on a true story.

During the pre summer days my Love Lists were full of things I loved that got me in the mood for summer. Some of the featured items still remains summery and some not but either way these are the things I have seen on my internet travels that tickle my fancy.
