Okay..... let me begin by saying it was difficult for me to stay focused last evening at work while I knew the season premiere of Lost was being broadcast. My mind was often distracted with thoughts lingering to Sawyer and the gang. However my patients needed me and I stayed mindful and true to the task at hand knowing that I could watch the episode this afternoon. It was an afternoon of sweet bliss. The fifth season of Lost started with a bang.
I have to say one of my favorite parts was Hurley's explanation to his Mom about what really happened on the island. He sounded like I do when I am trying to explain "Lost" to someone who has never watched the show.
Here are some random thoughts that are now lingering in my mind......
I wonder if the lawyers that came to see Kate were really sent by Ben as a ploy to convince Kate to go back to the island with Aaron.
As the episode began withe Dr. Candle/Chang waking up to a crying baby, I was thinking....hmmmmm, you can't have babies on the island right....so who's baby is it? Or for the matter who is it? Is the baby Miles? I really am unsure of his purpose yet except that he can talk to the dead. What is his connection with the island?
I have always loved how this show reflects themes of science and faith. Mother Mary was everywhere tonight...... falling out of the plane with a belly full of heroin, on the table when Hurley was confessing to his mother, and looking over his shoulder with her heart exposed in a painting on the wall, in the very same scene.
Is Ms. Hawking Daniel’s mother? She was the creepy woman from the bookstore that Desmond met in season 2.
So we know that Desmond is Daniels constant. I am beginning to think that the Oceanic 6 are the islands constant.
They spent alot of time emphasizing the "no change" rule for the time stream however does this apply to Desmond or is he an exception. Also it looks like some people like Charlotte may be affected by the time shifts. (bleeding nose, headache, memory lapses) The miner caught in the beginning with the melting drill had the same nosebleed due to a huge exposure to the "energy."
Is it a type of time travel sickness? Is this the same sickness that took Rosseau’s people?
I found Bernard and Rose annoying this episode.
Ben never blinks.
Ethan still creeps me out and every time he is onscreen Garth always reminds me that he is Tom Cruises cousin.
Sun was a little creepy also putting Kate through the ringer, blaming her for Jin's death, passive aggressively forgiving her, and then asking her how her man Jack was. She's out for blood.
Best line of the night....."Dude if you ate more comfort food, maybe you wouldn't kill people."
I love the scene where Sayid kills the man with a dishwasher full of knives.
Richard’s compass is the same one Locke was shown as a little boy, when they asked him if he recognized anything, right?
I thought it was freaky when the ghost of Anna Lucia tells Hurley that Libby says hi.
