Halloween Quiz: What Kind Of Monster Are You?
You Are a Witch (or Warlock)
You are deviously brilliant and a perfect manipulator.
You somehow always end up getting what you want - without anyone knowing you're working behind the scenes.
Crafty and cunning, you can work your way out of any jam.
And it's easy for you to get people to do what you want, whether you're working for good or evil.
Your greatest power: Mind control
Your greatest weakness: Making people your puppets
You play well with: Ghosts
Lets Talk Halloween
Not really superstitious…unless you count believe that when the moon is full the crazies come out.
Did you go to alot of houses to get candy or just get enough candy and go home.
Hell yeah…I went home to empty my bag to go back out again.
What do you hate most about Halloween?
Teenagers thinking that it’s funny to randomly hit houses, or steal from little kids, or cause vandalism.
Do you think kids costumes are better now or then?
I still think the homemade costumes are best.
Jason is coming in through your front door... Freddy is coming through your back door... zombies are at every window of the house and Norman Bates is calling to invite you to dinner... what do you do?

Dennis Hopper Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer
It was revealed today that actor, director, artist, and all around cool dude Dennis Hopper is fighting prostate cancer. On September 30, 2009, Hopper, 73, was rushed to a New York City hospital, treated and released, his condition was disclosed as “flu-like symptoms” or “dehydration” at the time. Now, however, it appears that he is suffering from something much more serious. He is being treated at the University of Southern California and his prognosis is not known at this time.
Song Of The Day: Life After You By Daughtry
Who Are You Meant To Be?
Forget your career. Forget how much money you make or how successful you are. This quiz can help you figure out what really defines you. I took the quiz and found it to be a fairly accurate reflection of me and points out what my downfalls may be.
YOU ARE STRIVING TO BE IN CONTROL
You are a leader: You approach everything as though you were born to be in charge. Confident, assertive, and decisive, you know what you want and you go after it. You also look out for family, friends, and community—you feel you know what's best for them—and have no fear of confronting anyone who challenges your ideas. Taking the driver's seat, you also generously donate time and energy to people and neighborhood projects.
What to watch out for: When you feel threatened, or others refuse to go along with your agenda, you can become confrontational and domineering, sometimes to the point of being dictatorial. Practice letting someone else take charge on occasion. Also try meditation; it can help you be-come more aware of your controlling impulses and ease the anxiety that may be provoking them.
Looking ahead: You discover your purpose when you take control of your environment. For you, finding a decision-making role is key. That could mean anything from producing a play to spearheading a global campaign for something you care about. In work, you're suited for leadership positions in education, government, industry, finance, religious institutions, or politics. But you can find satisfaction anytime you're given the autonomy to do things your own way.

Song Of The Day: Who'd Have Known By Lily Allen
Lily famously fell out with Elton when they co-hosted the GQ Awards last year. She clearly hasn't forgotten and looks like she's getting back here. Let's hope Elton doesn't have one of his tantrums.
Traits I Look For In A Significant Other
Loyalty
Good to animals
Compassionate
Silly yet responsible
Intelligent but not necessarily academically intelligent
Well mannered
Must love music like I do
Has a Genuine Sense of Self, as I’ve got a pretty strong character and I admit I sometimes step on the male ego more than I want to. My guy needs to know he wears the pants in the family even if I act otherwise.
Respectful of his family, especially of his mother because that's how he will treat me in the future.
Food lover. I have theories about this one. (Close friends and family know what I'm talking about.)
Must be fun to be with. I don’t like strict and uptight guys. Plus how else can he play with our children if he’s not a kid at heart.
Clean & well groomed
Someone who loves me for me.....no exceptions. Despite my flaws, he can still see right through me, and still chooses me.

Halloween Hoodies
These hoodies are a must have for Halloween. I like the Jason hoodie and think of all the fun you can have terrorizing your neighbourhood as a masked lunatic.
If that's not quite psychotic enough for you, there are also versions of The Joker, Jigsaw, and somewhat incongruously, Gene Simmons.

Random Questions
Lizard..most definitely. Although cute is a relative term when it comes to reptiles in my opinion.
Do you pay for more stuff using a credit/debit card or cold hard cash? I never have cash…I always use my debit card.
Would you give up hugs - giving and receiving....for the rest of your life, for a million dollars? No........hugs give you happiness. A million dollars gives you family you never knew existed! Do we really need more family?
What sort of people do you think read your blog? Other than family & friends, I'd say random bloggers trying to get more traffic/backlinks to their own blogs.
You go to a buffet style restaurant, what is the first food you put on your plate? Some sort of meat. I am a carnivore by nature.

Song Of The Day: Haven't Met You Yet By Michael Bublé
I always think of my family first. I have loving parents who have done their best to guide me in life. They have given me roots and wings and the ability to think for myself even when they have questioned that decision. I have an amazing husband who accepts me for who I am and has never tried to change me. We have worked very hard to build our life together and there is no one else I would rather share it with. I am thankful for my children who continue to grow into loving and caring people. Their joy and amazement with life is something that I hold very dear to me.
I am also thankful for the gift of friends. They are an amazing bunch of people who have each helped me grow to be a better person. I have learned so much from them and I am very thankful to have them as a part of my life. I was equally as blessed to reconnect with some friends this year who I had not spoken to in a very long time. It has been a great joy to catch up with them and to see where their lives have taken them.
I am also thankful for my job and those I work with. Every job has its ups and downs but I am lucky to work with a very supportive group of people who each bring something special to the table. My job is challenging at times but I would not have it another way.
I am thankful for my home. It is a place that we are making together and filling it with memories that we will cherish for a lifetime.
I am thankful for my health and the health of my loved ones.
Happy Thanksgiving

Toronto Star Sucks In The Service Department
That day came to an end when we ended up with a new delivery person.
I have a covered porch and have always requested when I sign up for the delivery service if my paper can be placed/tossed onto the porch rather than the end of the driveway where it often lays half hanging out of the plastic bag it comes in.
This elderly gentleman wakes up before the dawn to make his home deliveries in our subdivision and I have never met this fellow face to face as he somehow always seems to dodge the bullet when I lay in waiting ready to dialogue with him about his shitty service.
I have spoken to customer service several times about my home delivery and frustration with receiving rain soaked papers to which they always assured me they will speak with this gentlemen.
I am sure they have spoken with him as he then ensured my paper was off my drivcway and on my lawn or my neighbors soaked through by rain or morning dew. (Holy passive aggressive)
During the summer while sitting out on my porch I was approached by two tall, dark and handsome fellows that were recruiting Toronto Star Subscribers to help with their University Tuition. I was impressed with their sales pitch (and good looks) and once again signed on for a 3 month subscription.
Last Monday I received notice that my subscription was coming to an end as of October 17th and if I did want to cancel then I was to contact them by that date or else my account my become overdue. I have tried to reach them by way of telephone several times this week to no avail.
This has been very frustrating and I Emailed them last night to express same.
To// Toronto Star Circulation
You make it very difficult to reach you via telephone. I tried several times during the past week to contact you at 1-800-268-9213 and 1-416-367-4500 several times to only be left on hold for extended lengths of time. Was unable to dialogue with anyone to confirm cancellation of account # 70115737.
I can't fathom that during the 20 or more random times during the week that I called your customer service/subscriptions (or whomever I was calling) was that over extended. If so you need to hire more people.
It is most annoying that the Toronto Star put the responsibility of alerting them of my desire to cancel my subscription at the end of the already negotiated period. If I don't contact customer service before the specified date.....apparently my account may go overdue.
This is a system flaw you need to work at from your end. I tried to contact you to no avail. My time and energy are valuable. Consider this my cancellation notice. Please confirm receipt of email at address posted below.
Sincerely frustrated,
Jill Hyson
jhyson0714@rogers.com
Dear Ms. Hyson,
Thank for contacting Toronto Star Circulation.
We are sorry to hear that we are losing you as a valued customer of the Toronto Star. Are there any questions or concerns we may be able address for you that might prevent losing your business?
In the interim, and as per your request, we have stopped your subscription, and your service will cease on October 12, 2009. As your account was paid in advance we will send a refund for the credit balance.
You may want to consider switching to a Weekend, or perhaps even a Saturday only subscription. The Saturday Star is one of our most popular editions, as it typically features the week in review and the Star Week (TV channel guide).
Should you be interested in continuing your service on a weekend or Saturday basis, or have any other questions or concerns about your account, we invite you to contact us via email at circmail@thestar.ca or by calling us at 1-800-268-9213 or 416-367-4500 (M-F 6am-5:30pm, & Saturday, Sunday, & Holidays 6am – 1pm).
Best regards,
Susan
