Twitter Can Be A Good Thing

I have been reluctant to add Twitter as another social network tool.......like I need any more. However, due to the fact that I do not use my cell phone for anything but emergencies I felt I could limit myself with a healthy balance as I won't be going mobile.
This week I signed on and have been having fun following the "tweets" of others. As a huge fan of Breakfast Television I have been following my peeps.......Kevin, Jennifer and Frankie Flowers.
Often their tweets are of interest to me and I thought some of you (Mom and Dad) may enjoy this clip that Jennifer Valentyne shared via Twitter.

Witch Mountain Movies

As the story of Witch Mountain returns to movie theaters this year with the release of “Race to Witch Mountain,” the original films that launched the Witch Mountain saga, Escape to Witch Mountain and Return to Witch Mountain, are returning to DVD in special new editions from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.

Long before Harry Potter and the Narnia movies, the Witch Mountain films created a world in which children learned to use their magical powers. I loved these Disney flicks and am looking forward to taking my kids to see the new flick starring Dwayne Johnson.

The new Walt Disney Family Classics DVD editions both contain extensive bonus features, including all new Pop-Up Fun Facts, filmmaker commentaries, and more. They will be available in stores on March 10, three days before the theatrical release of “Race to Witch Mountain.”

Song Of The Day: Love Is Free Sheryl Crow

On her website, Crow states that she was inspired by the floods in New Orleans for this particular song.

"What struck me about it is the stoicism of the New Orleans people, they are very spiritually based. You can see it in their eyes that they aren't going to give up, they are going to rebuild."

The music video shows Crow singing with an acoustic guitar in a boat while coming across all kind of characters.

What's Your 80's Karoke Song?

Post your results in the comments.

Your 80s Song is "Sweet Child O' Mine"

If you were transported back to the 80s, your life would be all about rock and roll.

You love the free wheeling, wild atmosphere of the 80s - even if there were consequences later on.

You think of the 80s as a time of partying hard and letting loose.

Even if you find a lot of the 80s nostalgia to be a bit lame, you truly believe there was no better decade.

Song Of The Day: Me By Kina

Kina is an American musician best known for her work with Grammy nominated band Brownstone and her 2000 solo single "Girl from the Gutter". Kina grew up listening to Lenny Kravitz, Smokey Robinson, Rolling Stones and Aretha Franklin.
Her first taste of stardom came when she was picked as a replacement member for the Grammy nominated band Brownstone in 1995. In 1997, as the group failed to match its previous successes Kina decided to leave the band to pursue a solo career.

Why I Hate Springing Forward

Daylight saving time begins this weekend and I despise the whole time change thing.....but springing forward is the worst.
As far as I can tell, it doesn't actually "save" daylight. It just shifts ........Sometimes, I see more of it at the beginning of my day or at the end of it.
I wonder if there's actually a point to all this time-shifting. I keep reading that there is little evidence to prove that DST actually saves energy. I’m still getting up at 5 a.m., so I’m going to just turn up the heat and turn on the lights an hour earlier before the sun rises.......where is the energy saving in that?
24 hours in a day is not enough for a girl like me and now I have to lose an hour out of my day.
On the Sunday evening after the time change, I'm not tired yet when I try to go to sleep at my regular bedtime and this is a problem for an insomniac like me without the time change to begin with. Then I feel jet lagged for about a week after the time changes.
No matter how many times I go through this absurd ritual I can never remember how to reset the clock in my van.
Seriously, they don't do the DST thing in Saskatchewan, Arizona and Hawaii and they seem perfectly happy.
