The Pet Rock was a unique fad that made its debut in 1975. It retailed for $3.95 and it didn't need to be fed, walked, bathed, groomed, etc. Stanley Harvey Eisen, Chaim Witz, Paul Daniel Frehley, and George Peter John Criscuola were the birth names of the original band mates of Kiss........Their respective stage names are Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss

Song Of The Day: Black Swan Song By Athlete
Athlete are an English indie rock band. The members have been friendssince the age of fourteen and started jamming and practicing in the basement of The Bear, a London pub which was converted into a church and sandwich bar in 1999. They began recording there, before sending demos out. Rumor has it this song is about the death of front man Joel Potts' grandfather. Pott said in publicity materials: "I've never experienced death like that. He'd lived a long, amazing life and he was really triumphant and positive about it."

Song Of The Day: Haven't Met You Yet By Michael Bublé
Today I am going to take time out to count my blessings and recall what I am thankful for.I always think of my family first. I have loving parents who have done their best to guide me in life. They have given me roots and wings and the ability to think for myself even when they have questioned that decision. I have an amazing husband who accepts me for who I am and has never tried to change me. We have worked very hard to build our life together and there is no one else I would rather share it with. I am thankful for my children who continue to grow into loving and caring people. Their joy and amazement with life is something that I hold very dear to me.
I am also thankful for the gift of friends. They are an amazing bunch of people who have each helped me grow to be a better person. I have learned so much from them and I am very thankful to have them as a part of my life. I was equally as blessed to reconnect with some friends this year who I had not spoken to in a very long time. It has been a great joy to catch up with them and to see where their lives have taken them.
I am also thankful for my job and those I work with. Every job has its ups and downs but I am lucky to work with a very supportive group of people who each bring something special to the table. My job is challenging at times but I would not have it another way.
I am thankful for my home. It is a place that we are making together and filling it with memories that we will cherish for a lifetime.
I am thankful for my health and the health of my loved ones.
Happy Thanksgiving

Turkeys That Turn My Appetite

Simple Pleasures Of Autumn
Every season has its joys but truth be told I’m an autumn junkie.1. Sipping apple cider
2. Snuggling under a blanket
3. Wearing winter sweaters that feel new again after six months hidden away
4. Having a great excuse to stay in on a Saturday and watch movies all day long
5. Picking out pumpkins
6. Looking at the colors of the changing trees.
7. Being able to wear my new black leather boots with my black leather jacket
8. Fall decorations.......Pumpkins and Mums
Stunning Pumpkin Carvings

It’s time to head to the pumpkin patch to select this year’s pumpkin. If you’re anything like me, just carving the basic eyes, nose and mouth is a big task. Yet, there are others there that can carve a jack-o-lantern like nobody’s business. Take a look HERE to see how these pros transformed ordinary pumpkins into masterpieces.

Toronto Star Sucks In The Service Department
Once upon a time I was a tried and true Toronto Star Subscriber. That day came to an end when we ended up with a new delivery person.
I have a covered porch and have always requested when I sign up for the delivery service if my paper can be placed/tossed onto the porch rather than the end of the driveway where it often lays half hanging out of the plastic bag it comes in.
This elderly gentleman wakes up before the dawn to make his home deliveries in our subdivision and I have never met this fellow face to face as he somehow always seems to dodge the bullet when I lay in waiting ready to dialogue with him about his shitty service.
I have spoken to customer service several times about my home delivery and frustration with receiving rain soaked papers to which they always assured me they will speak with this gentlemen.
I am sure they have spoken with him as he then ensured my paper was off my drivcway and on my lawn or my neighbors soaked through by rain or morning dew. (Holy passive aggressive)
During the summer while sitting out on my porch I was approached by two tall, dark and handsome fellows that were recruiting Toronto Star Subscribers to help with their University Tuition. I was impressed with their sales pitch (and good looks) and once again signed on for a 3 month subscription.
Last Monday I received notice that my subscription was coming to an end as of October 17th and if I did want to cancel then I was to contact them by that date or else my account my become overdue. I have tried to reach them by way of telephone several times this week to no avail.
This has been very frustrating and I Emailed them last night to express same.
To// Toronto Star Circulation
You make it very difficult to reach you via telephone. I tried several times during the past week to contact you at 1-800-268-9213 and 1-416-367-4500 several times to only be left on hold for extended lengths of time. Was unable to dialogue with anyone to confirm cancellation of account # 70115737.
I can't fathom that during the 20 or more random times during the week that I called your customer service/subscriptions (or whomever I was calling) was that over extended. If so you need to hire more people.
It is most annoying that the Toronto Star put the responsibility of alerting them of my desire to cancel my subscription at the end of the already negotiated period. If I don't contact customer service before the specified date.....apparently my account may go overdue.
This is a system flaw you need to work at from your end. I tried to contact you to no avail. My time and energy are valuable. Consider this my cancellation notice. Please confirm receipt of email at address posted below.
Sincerely frustrated,
Jill Hyson

Dear Ms. Hyson,
Thank for contacting Toronto Star Circulation.
We are sorry to hear that we are losing you as a valued customer of the Toronto Star. Are there any questions or concerns we may be able address for you that might prevent losing your business?
In the interim, and as per your request, we have stopped your subscription, and your service will cease on October 12, 2009. As your account was paid in advance we will send a refund for the credit balance.
You may want to consider switching to a Weekend, or perhaps even a Saturday only subscription. The Saturday Star is one of our most popular editions, as it typically features the week in review and the Star Week (TV channel guide).
Should you be interested in continuing your service on a weekend or Saturday basis, or have any other questions or concerns about your account, we invite you to contact us via email at circmail@thestar.ca or by calling us at 1-800-268-9213 or 416-367-4500 (M-F 6am-5:30pm, & Saturday, Sunday, & Holidays 6am – 1pm).
Best regards,
Susan

Song Of The Day: Up All Night By Take That
Take That are a English pop band consisting of members Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange, Mark Owen, and formerly Robbie Williams. Barlow is the group's main songwriter. All of them perform primarily on vocals though each have some instrumental talent/song-writing capability. After seeing major success in the early to mid 1990s as a five person act, a reformed four man version of the band achieved new success in the mid 2000s without Robbie Williams. This tune is featured on a second post-reunion studio album entitled The Circus. Robbie Williams recently returned to the band, announcing this on September 28, 2009.
